Community Association Party Success
Kings Down Community Association’s Christmas Party was the first Christmas party to be held in the new Kings Down Pavilion and was a great success.
Last Saturday evening, the new Community Hall at the Kings Down Pavilion was brightly decorated with lights, greetings and images on a giant screen. Christmas muusic played from a disco console and young people set to with a will to produce drawings and colour pictures.
Young and old enjoyed the festive fare with soft drinks, tea, coffe, mulled wine, mince pies, biscuits and a host of goodies to eat and chatted about their Christmas experiences. Father Christmas kept his promise to visit and brought presents for the children who formed an excited queue to visit him in his grotto. Then the younger people had to work hard to help their parents and older guests with the answers to a seasonal quiz that everyone enjoyed – can you remember the names of all Santa’s reindeer?
The event showed what a great venue it is for parties and the organisers in the Kings Down Community Association and the YMCA, who offered much practical assistance, can congratulate themselves on an excellent event worthy of the first Christmas party in the new hall.
